Transformational Leadership

Transformational leadership is a style of leadership in which great leaders influence, encourage, inspire and motivate subordinates to innovate and come up with the change that will help grow and shape the future success of the organization. This is accomplished by setting an example at the executive level through a strong sense of corporate culture, employee ownership and independence in the workplace.

As existing managers and leaders ascend to newer heights of management, it becomes necessary to transcend to higher styles of leadership to be able to cope up effectively with bigger responsibilities and diverse forms of people management and accelerated performance expectations. It’s a management style that’s designed to give employees room to be more creative, look to the future and find optimal solutions to old problems. While leaders are broadly of 2 types – transactional and transformational; it is the transformational leadership style, which leads the organization to evolve and progress towards a vision.

An organization is only limited by the mind that controls it. An assured method of positively influencing an organization and steering it towards its goals, is to adopt and focus on transformational leadership. To use this approach in the workforce, one must first learn & understand exactly what transformational leadership is. In the simplest terms, transformational leadership is a process that changes and transforms individuals. In other words, transformational leadership is the ability to influence people, the ability to get people to want to change, to improve, and to be managed.

Every organization need courageous leaders who empower others to reach heights they never thought possible. Organizations need leaders to expand their capabilities and move outside of the transactional space with the right approach, skilled workforce and a transformational attitude that focuses on long term solutions rather than short term gains. They strive to find new solutions that will help not just their own interests, but will support the highest and greatest long-term good of all. They seek to learn how they can grow.
